Description

These Jordan Marsh’s Blueberry Muffins are classic, moist, and bursting with fresh blueberries. Perfectly tender with a golden crust, they make a delightful breakfast or snack treat that’s easy to prepare in under 40 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk

Add-ins

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the muffins.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt thoroughly to ensure even rising and flavor distribution.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a separate bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy, which helps incorporate air for a tender crumb.
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time to the butter-sugar mixture, then stir in the vanilla extract to add aroma and flavor.
  5. Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined to avoid overworking the batter.
  6. Fold in Blueberries: Gently fold the fresh blueberries into the batter, being careful not to crush them and turn the batter blue.
  7. Fill Muffin Tin: Spoon the batter into a muffin tin lined with paper liners, filling each cup about 3/4 full for optimal rising.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool: Remove the muffins from the oven and allow them to cool in the tin briefly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh blueberries for best flavor; frozen can also be used but do not thaw to prevent bleeding into the batter.
  • Do not overmix the batter to maintain a tender and fluffy muffin texture.
  • Papers liners prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • Ensure the butter is properly softened to cream well with sugar for the best texture.
  • Check muffins at 20 minutes to avoid overbaking.
