Wet Ingredients
- â…” cup honey
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
Spices & Seasonings
- 1¼ teaspoons ground nutmeg
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- â…› teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
Dry Ingredients
- 5 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- ½ cup raisins
- ½ cup chopped pecans
- ½ cup sliced almonds
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch lipped baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Mix Wet Ingredients and Spices: In a large bowl, combine honey, melted unsalted butter, ground nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and kosher salt. Stir thoroughly to blend the flavors evenly.
- Add Oats: Add the rolled oats to the honey and spice mixture, stirring until each oat flake is evenly coated with the wet mixture.
- Bake the Granola: Spread the coated oats evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven, stirring every 10 minutes to promote even baking and prevent burning. Bake for a total of about 30 minutes or until the oats turn a deep golden brown.
- Combine Nuts, Raisins & Maple Syrup: Remove the granola from the oven and transfer it back into the large bowl. Add raisins, chopped pecans, sliced almonds, chopped walnuts, and maple syrup. Stir well to coat the mixture evenly.
- Cool: Spread the granola mixture back onto the baking sheet in an even layer and allow it to cool completely. This cooling step helps the granola to harden and become crisp.
Notes
- Stirring the oats during baking is crucial to get a uniform golden color and prevent burning.
- Allow granola to cool completely before storing to maintain crispness.
- Store granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
- Feel free to swap nuts according to preference or availability.
- Add dried fruits after baking to prevent them from burning or becoming too hard.
