Description

This Easy Melon Cooler is a refreshing, hydrating beverage perfect for warm days. Made with sweet honeydew melon, crisp Persian cucumbers, zesty lime juice and zest, fresh mint leaves, and a pinch of kosher salt, this cooler is blended and strained to create a smooth, frothy drink that’s both light and flavorful. Ideal for a quick healthy refreshment or a party drink, it’s simple to prepare and can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits & Vegetables

  • 1/2 medium honeydew melon, de-seeded and cubed
  • 3 Persian cucumbers, roughly chopped
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 tbsp lime zest (about 1 medium lime)
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

Others

  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: De-seed and cube half a medium honeydew melon, roughly chop the Persian cucumbers, juice two limes, and zest about one lime to collect approximately one tablespoon of lime zest. Rinse and pick fresh mint leaves.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Add the honeydew, cucumbers, lime juice, lime zest, mint leaves, kosher salt, and water into a high-speed blender. Blend on medium-high speed for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy and smooth.
  3. Strain Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve or nut milk bag over a bowl to strain out the pulp and create a smooth liquid.
  4. Store the Cooler: Transfer the strained melon cooler into a glass jar or pitcher and refrigerate. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, served chilled for the best refreshing taste.

Notes

  • Using a high-speed blender is key to achieving a smooth and frothy texture.
  • Straining removes pulp for a cleaner, more refreshing drink but can be skipped if you prefer a thicker beverage.
  • You can adjust the amount of water to make the cooler more or less concentrated according to your taste.
  • Garnish with additional mint leaves or a slice of lime for serving.
  • Serve chilled or with ice cubes on hot days.
