Perfect as a party appetizer or a sweet snack, these golden delights are served warm with optional powdered sugar, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and fresh strawberry slices for an indulgent experience.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheesecake Filling

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries, finely diced

Wontons and Frying

  • Wonton Wrappers
  • Oil for Frying (2-3 inches deep in pot)

For Serving (Optional)

  • Powdered Sugar, for dusting
  • Chocolate Sauce
  • Caramel Sauce
  • Whipped Cream
  • Extra Fresh Strawberry Slices

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat the mixture using an electric mixer or whisk until completely smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes. Gently fold in the finely diced fresh strawberries. Cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Assemble the Wonton Bites: Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Spoon about ½ to ¾ teaspoon of the strawberry cheesecake filling into the center of each wrapper. Moisten the edges with water using your finger, fold diagonally into a triangle, and press edges firmly to seal. Place wrapped wontons on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Heat the Oil: Pour enough oil into a deep pot or fryer to reach 2-3 inches deep. Heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350-375°F (175-190°C).
  4. Deep Fry the Wontons: Carefully lower 3-4 wontons into the hot oil using a slotted spoon or tongs. Fry for 1-2 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining wontons.
  5. Serve Warm: Dust the fried wontons with powdered sugar if desired. Serve immediately with optional chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and fresh strawberry slices for dipping or garnish.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to achieve a smooth filling.
  • Do not overfill the wonton wrappers to prevent leaking during frying.
  • Maintain oil temperature between 350-375°F for perfect crispiness without excess oil absorption.
  • Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and texture.
  • Serve immediately for the crispiest texture as they can soften when stored.
