Ingredients
Scale
Buffalo Chicken Filling
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 cups (280g) rotisserie chicken, shredded and chopped
- 1 cup (113g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup (113g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/3 cup (84g) buffalo sauce
Puff Pastry and Toppings
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Ranch dressing, for drizzling
- Extra buffalo sauce, for drizzling
- Parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and allow even baking.
- Make the Buffalo Chicken Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded rotisserie chicken, mozzarella cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, and buffalo sauce. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Set aside.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry into a rectangular shape approximately 9×12 inches to create a base for the filling.
- Fill and Roll the Pastry: Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges to allow sealing. Carefully roll the pastry tightly into a log, ensuring the edges are sealed to prevent filling leakage. Slice the log into 1-inch thick pieces.
- Bake the Roll-Ups: Arrange the roll-up slices onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg to promote a golden, glossy finish. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. For an extra warm and melty topping, spoon additional buffalo chicken mixture on top of each roll-up and bake for an additional 6 to 8 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove the roll-ups from the oven, drizzle with extra buffalo sauce and ranch dressing, and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately while warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
- You can substitute the rotisserie chicken with cooked shredded chicken breast if preferred.
- If puff pastry sheets are frozen, allow sufficient time to thaw in the refrigerator before rolling.
- The egg wash is essential for a shiny golden crust but can be omitted for a dairy-free version.
- Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to suit your preferred spice level.
